How can I schedule appointments? All appointments are scheduled online at joidreams.com
Do you have late night appointments? Tuesdays the salon closed at 8pm, but most days the salon is open until 7pm.
Must I shampoo, condition and blow dry my hair before arriving for my appointment? Absolutely not! All adults are shampooed and conditioned during their appointment. Small children sometimes are not comfortable having their hair shampooed, but in all other clients are shampooed and conditioned.
Will my hair be flat ironed after my hair is blow dried? Our blow dry and style appointment includes flats ironing.
Do you offer silk press as a service? Our blow dry and style service can be finished with a silk press.
Why are the prices different for most services? Our prices are calculated with time in mind. Depending on the length or thickness of your hair we will require more time. This will cause the service to cost more for some.
Do you offer services for toddler girls? We require a consultation with the parent and child before service. We want to insure the child will be comfortable and the correct service is chosen.
Why are there two men’s haircut services? A clipper cut usually will not require scissor work. Men’s haircut that require mostly scissor work with some clipper cutting requires more time which is why it cost more than a men’s clipper haircut.
Can I schedule color without a finish style? All color services require a finish style (blow dry, roller set, finger wave, etc). As we must insure the color is to our satisfaction and want our clients to leave “comment ready.”
Must I schedule a finish style when scheduling a relaxer? Yes, a relaxer service is just that, the relaxer and conditioner service. Not all clients want the same finish style. We must have enough time to complete your look.
Can I bring in my scalp and or hair prescription shampoo and ointment when I come in for my service? Yes, but we ask that you alert us prior to coming in for your appointment. As some medications require a processing time.
Can I bring in my own color for my color service? No, we use professional products that we have vetted. We can not guarantee the freshness, quality or integrity of products we have not vetted.
Can I bring others with me that are not scheduled to receive services when I come in for my service? Unless your companion is a nurse, no. Our space is petite and we want to insure those that come in for services can sit comfortably and safely.
Do you have wifi? Yes, we have wifi for our clients convenience.
Where can I park? There is plenty of free parking. You can park for 2 hours along Mount Vernon Avenue or for more time you can part along the side streets of Mount Vernon Avenue.
Should I schedule a consultation if I am coming in for the first time? Absolutely! We offer either zoom or in-person consultations. They can be scheduled at joidreams.com.
If I am late must I reschedule? It will depend on the service, how late you are and what time the salon closed compared to when you arrive. We understand things happen, but we also must consider other clients and our closing times.
If something happens at the last minute and I must cancel after the cancelation time, can I use the money I prepaid for later that week or another time? No, while we understand things happen, the time you had scheduled was blocked for you. We do not double book, which means we lose the opportunity for another client to come in at that time. If we allowed you schedule for another day, we would in essence lose that income twice. As you would be taking another appointment slot, but not paying for it.
What product line do you use for facials and waxing? We use Tuel products for facials and waxing and Waxone for our waxing oils.
